Dys in Youth Field: empowering inclusive youth work through gamified and digital tools.
Inclusion in youth work is crucial, but many young individuals with Specific Learning Difficulties (SLD) often face barriers to fully participate in activities. Many traditional youth work methods fail to offer the necessary materials, which makes SLD youth underrepresented and lack support in non-formal education environments.
As youth work keeps evolving to meet the needs of diverse populations, it is important to integrate inclusive methods that ensure equal access for all. However, traditional resources lack the adaptability required to support young people with SLD, which limits their opportunities for engagement.
The “Dys in Youth Field” project addresses this gap by developing innovative, gamified, and digital tools designed to make youth work more inclusive. The project offers youth workers the skills and knowledge they need to support young people with SLD effectively.
The project brings together youth organizations and inclusion specialists to create a comprehensive learning framework, combining digital and in-person engagement. This approach fosters participation among SLD youth and raises awareness among youth NGOs, institutions, and professionals.
The project will have results, such as an inclusive youth work training course, a compendium of interactive activities, and guidelines for adapting educational content. These will be tested through the consortium to ensure that they are effective in real-life situations.
